J. to Isaac Drake and Elizabeth Shotwell, and elder brother of Benjamin Drake author of Life of Tecumseh. Daniel graduated from the medical school of the University of Pennsylvania in 1815, and settled in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he became known as a physician and writer.
