Autorenporträt
Deborah Brams Horner is a story teller, jazz musician, special education teacher, mother, wife, and outdoor enthusiast. Her story telling was cultivated by her loving daughter, Samantha Rose, who never got enough of her mom's ingenious stories, all with colorful characters, age--appropriate language and humor, and life wisdom woven in every one of them. She received her Bachelor's of Music from the esteemed Berklee College of Music after completing all coursework and proficiencies in two years. She went on as a struggling musician throughout her twenties taking day jobs in administration and computer programming. In her thirties she went back to graduate school to achieve four teaching credentials with a specialty in learning disabilities. While working mainly as a resource specialist in the south bay of San Diego, she raised a beautiful and gifted daughter and an array of household pets. Now, free from the constraints of full-time work and parenthood, Deborah is dedicated to inspiring young minds, and showing them the value of self-love, compassion, health, community, and knowledge. Her daughter, Sami, is the photographer, and friend Madi did the illustrations for this first book in the Good Nature Series. Deborah plays saxophone, flute, and percussion professionally around the San Diego area, reads her books to lower-grade classrooms, and is an inspiration to all around her.
