Dare To Be A Conservative Christian (DARE) is vitally important to the well-being of the Christian church. The wider the distribution and circulation of this message the better it shall be for the future viability of the Christian church. It is said that good writers write about things they know; that good Christian writers believe and believe in what they write. But the best Christian writers write about the life they live. Many have heard about and have read about Jesus and his ministry but few actually know him and have a personal relationship with Him and live their lives reflecting obedience to his apostolic teachings. The purpose of DARE is to inspire, motivate and incite a new fervor in my conservative colleagues to boldly fight for the spread of the whole and true Gospel wherever and whenever the opportunity exists. DARE is not to be read for entertainment, it is a message intended to change how we do ministry. It is a work for the edification of the reader that contains a challenge and a clarion call to action for true believers in the apostolic teachings of the Christian church. Before becoming an ordained minister, Rev. Dr. Arthur L. Porter was an attorney. He was called into the ministry in 1997 and graduated from Concordia Theological Seminary of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, Fort Wayne, IN with a master's degree in divinity and ordained as a Lutheran pastor in 2000. He has served as pastor of churches in Birmingham, Alabama, New Orleans, Louisiana and Los Angeles, California. He is the author of Slavery of Christian Freedom: A Christian Guide to Abundant Living. Rev. Porter also hosts a weekly Sunday sermon on his blog at www.thewordwise.org. He has been married to Janice Henderson for fifty years and they have two children and one grandchild.
