Are we destined to re-live the inaction of our past or are we capable of adapting into a united voice to stop the mass killings of the 21st century? Failing to act with any concerted international cohesion was the theme of the 20th century. It was marked by dozens of humanitarian intervention failures, including among others: Germany, China, Soviet Union, Amenia, Cambodia, Rwanda, Kosovo, and Bosnia. National leaders have always been quick to condemn these atrocities, however, we never seriously take time to prepare ourselves for future incidents. In September 2005, the "United Nations (UN) members unanimously accepted responsibility to protect populations from genocide, ethnic cleansing, war crimes and crimes against humanity, pledging to take action through the Security Council when national authorities fail.
