Valerie Hicks Caple has been journaling, writing poetry, and writing and publishing newsletters for over three decades. In 1996 she received a certificate of recognition for Outstanding Community Activism for her newsletter, "Women after God's Own Heart". She currently resides in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, where she is active in her local church and is a member of the missionary circle, usher board, and currently serves as Vacation Bible School Director.
