Darren Robert Yap (born 23 August 1967) is an Australian actor and director. Yap was born in Sydney and grew up in the suburb of Cabramatta. He was the third child of a Malaysian-born Sydney medical practitioner and his fourth-generation Australia-born Chinese wife. Yap was educated at Newington College (1980 85) He is a graduate of the NIDA Director s Course and UWS Theatre Nepean.
