Taking a hands-on approach, Data Analysis and Presentation Skills: An Introduction for the Life and Medical Sciences introduces students to all aspects of data collection, research, and analysis to enable them to present their findings in an appropriate manner. Many students find they are inundated with various resources to research, collate, and analyze. Data Analysis and Presentation Skills brings key ITC skills together to allow the student to research appropriate sources on the Internet, present data in charts and plots using Microsoft Excel, look at various statistical tests and use the most appropriate. Most importantly, it allows students to present this research through the use of PowerPoint slides whilst simultaneously giving advice on how to prepare a short talk or seminar.
Undergraduate and post-graduate students in the life sciences are required to research scientific information using a variety of resources. They are then required to use this information to design experiments, generate results, analyse their data and ultimately present this information to academics and referees.

The title provides students with the opportunity of developing key skills within several areas enabling them to use such skills as research and presentation tools.
_ A hands-on approach introducing essential ICT skills required for bioscientists to work through final year projects and postgraduate study
_ Enables students to develop key skills within several areas and utilising ICT as a research and presentation tool
_ Introduces fundamental theory alongside practical applications to enhance student understanding
_ Includes numerous relevant examples and case studies relevant to students within the biosciences
