Stratemeyer, the mastermind behind the Syndicate, was an American publisher and a prolific writer of children's fiction. Born on October 4, 1862, in Elizabeth, New Jersey, Stratemeyer founded the Stratemeyer Syndicate, a publishing company that produced a remarkable volume of children's books. Throughout his career, Stratemeyer wrote or oversaw the production of over 1,300 books, with total sales exceeding 500 million copies worldwide. His work includes famous series such as The Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew.
