Autorenporträt

Edward V. George, PhD (University of Wisconsin) taught Classics at Texas Tech University (1971-2010). He has published editions of three of Vives's works, numerous articles on Vives and rhetoric, and other studies touching Luisa Sigea and Latin of New Spain. Gilbert Tournoy taught Latin language and literature (Classical, Medieval, and Neo-Latin) at the University of Leuven. He specializes in the study of humanism in Italy and the Netherlands (Erasmus, Vives, Lipsius) and is currently preparing a critical edition of Vives's correspondence.
