A rescue mission to Haiti ensnares globe-trotting problem solver Paul Ondragon in a web of voodoo magic from which there is no escape . . . When Paul Ondragon's mentor, Roderick DeForce, seeks his help on a seemingly routine missing-person case, the consummate troubleshooter finds himself vexed by a puzzle even he can't easily solve. The missing man is a tough-as-nails former Navy Seal working for a company that specializes in high-stakes deliveries to crisis areas. But who wanted him out of the way . . . and why? Ondragon's investigation takes him on a whirlwind journey across the United States-from the arid deserts of Arizona to the sultry streets of New Orleans-and into the darkest corners of earthquake-ravaged Haiti. But what begins as a straightforward search for answers quickly descends into a deadly game of cat and mouse as Ondragon realizes he's fighting against not only flesh and blood but forces beyond his comprehension. A body in his hotel room, mysterious death threats, and a visit to a voodoo priestess harboring ominous secrets leave Ondragon adrift in a world where ancient myths and modern-day horrors collide. In the end, he must rely on his wits and the support of his team of specialists to uncover the truth-before it's too late.Hinweis: Dieser Artikel kann nur an eine deutsche Lieferadresse ausgeliefert werden.
Anette Strohmeyer is a German crime writer. She began her career illustrating comic books but unfortunately never developed the skills to rival her role model, Jean Giraud aka Moebius, so she decided to focus on the speech bubbles instead. Now, Strohmeyer is known for her fiction writing and meticulous, often immersive research work. She has participated in a voodoo ceremony in Haiti, eaten termites in the jungle, generated lightning in a high-voltage laboratory, and trekked through Japan's infamous Aokigahara Forest along the edge of Mount Fuji. Since 2018, Strohmeyer has lived in Denmark, where she splits her time between Copenhagen and the island of Møn. She also writes as Anne Nørdby, author of the bestselling Tom Skagen thriller series.
