As we live through the period of Inclusive Education, we know very little about the culture and language of a people who are part of a society but are often despised by it. The deaf community has a second Brazilian language, unknown to most Brazilians. Owners of a visuospatial language are often labelled mimes, monkeys or clowns. This book aims to tell a little about the trajectory of the deaf in Brazil from the perspective of a special education teacher who was born hearing and lost her hearing at the age of 30.
