Deaf women with breast cancer: The meaning of social supports is a phenomenological qualitative study exploring the significance of social support systems on the emotional and mental health of Deaf women with breast cancer. The study examines the availabiity of social supports for Deaf women with breast cancer and how access to social supports impacts emotional health. Interactions with healthcare provider, the need for signing healthcare professionals, and understanding healthcare information are noted as significant issues for Deaf women with breast cancer.
