A memoir about friendship and loss, illustrated with black and white pencil drawings. Written by an artist and mom, this story begins in the present, and moves backwards and forwards through time. At times the author reaches back to her girlhood, at about the same age her youngest child is currently. Includes recipes and song lyrics, musings about small town island day-to-day life and bigger questions about self worth and belonging.

Autorenporträt
Danielle is both a fine and tattoo artist who co-owns a tattoo shop in South Portland Maine called Black Hen Studio. A Maine native originally from Aroostook County, she currently resides on an island in Casco Bay with her youngest child. Her hobbies include birdwatching, gardening, climbing trees, listening to music at a high volume, and drinking coffee in bed. Although she has written many posts on Facebook, and has aspirations about writing an advice column in her golden years, this is the first book written and illustrated by Danielle.
