Autorenporträt
Alvin is a retired successful businessman and a devoted family man. His father in-law had an extensive collection of Yiddish and Polish letters that he received from his immediate family who later perished in the Holocaust. After having the letters translated, Alvin and his wife Helene developed such a strong connection to the voices they heard in the letters that they were compelled to tell their story and the effect it had on Helene's father. When their search for an author turned up empty, Alvin decided to write the story for his wife while telling it from her perspective.
