Dahlia has just given birth and wakes up in the hospital to discover that her boyfriend Milo has vanished. Believing he has abandoned them should be shock enough, but she soon learns that he has only six months to live. Dahlia's one of the lucky ones, she has lots of time left, but her boyfriend - he's either lying, or he's defying the system and they aren't going to let him get away with that. Meanwhile, Dahlia is forced to deal with the impending deaths of some very close loved ones and returns to her hometown, where she finds herself falling back into familiar comforts with an old flame.
