Vicki has hosted a lavish party for the top executives of the company, which has just concluded one of its more eventful years. The guests have left and Vicki is staring at the recessed ceiling of her mini-mansion overlooking the Potomac River outside Washington, D.C. But those green eyes that stirred so many male hearts are vacant and still. Vicki Cole - beautiful, successful, and wealthy - is dead. Having set the stage in this way, the story leaps back to the previous New Year's Day, January 1, 2022. It is then that we begin to meet a cast of characters whose paths and fates will intersect in the year leading up to Vicki's death and in the period thereafter, as the authorities try to resolve the "Who?" and "Why?" of her demise. John Chierichella is a native New Yorker who relocated to Virginia in connection with his military service and has resided there ever since.He received his bachelor's degree from Cornell University and his law degree from the Columbia University School of Law. Following his law school graduation he served as an Attorney/Advisor to the Secretary of the Air Force in The Pentagon, where his work focused on the acquisition of major weapons systems. Upon leaving the Air Force, he continued his focus on the legal aspects of Government procurement as a partner in several international law firms. Over the course of his career he was admitted to the practice of law in New York, the District of Columbia, California, Wisconsin, and Virginia. He has served as the lead attorney in connection with legal projects relating to fighter aircraft, the Stealth bomber, helicopters, naval destroyers and other surface ships, surveillance satellites, submarine subsystems, and plant machinery. He has consistently been included on a variety of "Best Lawyer" lists, both in the metropolitan DC area and nationally. He currently serves as the Founder and Manager of Chierichella Procurement Strategies LLC, a consulting firm through which he continues to serve the needs of contractors in dealing with the Government. His first novel, "Triangles of Fate," was published in 2023 and was followed recently by his second novel, "The Last Martini." "Death Above the Potomac" is his third novel. He currently resides with his wife Shannon and their three children on a small farm in Warrenton, Virginia, in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
