L'autore è un biologo molecolare e ricercatore sulla genetica e biologia dei tumori. E' direttore di un gruppo di ricerca al Massachusetts General Hospital e Harvard Medical School di Boston e all' Università di Losanna, in Svizzera, ed é fondatore e presidente dell' International Cancer Prevention Institute (www.cancerprev.ch). Si è laureato in Medicina all'Università di Torino e ha ottenuto un dottorato (PhD) in genetica molecolare presso la Rockefeller University di New York. È membro della European Molecular Biology Organization, dell'Academia Europaea, dell'Accademia Tedesca delle Scienze Leopoldina. È autore di > 100 articoli scientifici in prestigiose riviste internazionali e ha collaborato in diverse occasioni con l'Osservatore Romano. E' fondatore di "Studium", una piattaforma di incontro e scambio interculturale (www.studium1.com).
