William Levine (1881-July 24, 1951) was an American dentist who wrote mystery novels under the pseudonym Will Levinrew. Born in Russia in 1881, William Levine immigrated to the United States as a kid. He grew up in New Jersey. By the early 1900s, he had established his dentistry practice in Passaic, and he later opened an office in Newark. In addition to his dentistry practice, Dr. Levine worked as a part-time writer in Newark. He was very politically active in both New Jersey, where he ran for municipal office and supported the strike, and Pinellas County, Florida, where he later lived. In the 1930s, he rose to prominence by challenging a New Jersey rule that prohibited dentists from publicizing service costs. His death occurred on July 24, 1951, in Newark, New Jersey.
