This book entitled Decentralization Process and Community Based Natural Resource Management articulates a comprehensive understanding on the principles of decentralized natural resource management. It presents the results of the roles of decentralization and community participation in natural resource management. The overall objective was to assess the decentralization process and community based natural resource management and then suggests ways of improving effectiveness of the practices for natural resource sustainability. It has specifically examined the effectiveness of decentralization process in natural resource management; assessed the roles of community participation in natural resource management and ultimately identified challenges associated with natural resource sustainability. The book realizes decentralization and community participation practices as the key important features for natural resource sustainability. Nevertheless, lack of community capacity and insufficient governance has remained as factors for poor natural resource management. Hence, increasing community awareness on decentralization policy in NRM at grassroots level is highly recommended in this book.
