This study is the result of field research, readings and discussions with municipal authorities. The purpose of this study is to establish an inventory of decentralized cooperation in the Diamré department in the extreme north of Cameroon. This study confirms that decentralized cooperation is in its embryonic stage in Cameroon in general and in Diamare in particular. The interviews we had with the municipal authorities of Diamaré and Mayo-Tsanaga allowed us to see that the concept of decentralized cooperation, although governed by Cameroonian legislative texts, is vaguely known by our municipal authorities. We also tried to present the Diamaré department and the different municipalities that are part of it. In the second part, we made an inventory of the decentralized cooperation in Diamaré. From this inventory we have noted that out of the 9 communes in Diamaré, only 2 have incipient decentralized cooperation relations.
