Steven L. Cohn, MD, MACP, is professor emeritus and the former medical director of the UHealth Preoperative Assessment Center at the University of Miami School of Medicine and Hospital. He established the preoperative medical clinic and directed the medical consultation service for almost 30 years at SUNY Downstate/Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, NY. Dr. Cohn is the recipient of the Society of Hospital Medicine's Individual Award for Excellence in Teaching, the organization's highest award that honors best practices in hospital medicine.
