Autorenporträt
Lance enjoyed the response from publishing his memoirs so much so that it convinced him to start working on his long held ambition to write a series of fictional crime thrillers. During his teenage years, driving tow trucks and repossessing in Sydney, he mixed in a world of colourful, sometimes dangerous, characters. Later, travelling the world as a young man, he joined the London Fire Brigade, worked as an interpreter in Paris, a hospital aide in Holland, and learned the fine art of dishwashing in Greece and Germany... experiencing the best and worst of many things in life with all its diversity. Back home, he rejoined the Fire Brigade in Sydney's Kings Cross, then, in his mid 20s-over 50 years ago now-he met and married his gorgeous wife, Helen, whilst working on Queensland's Whitsunday Islands. He also fell in love with Mother Nature and the beauty, marine life and colours of the Great Barrier Reef. Together he and Helen raised three children and now have seven much-loved grandchildren living around the world. Through his various achievements-Shire President, the bicentennial Advance Australia Award, his Order of Australia and his 20 years working with the Oncology kids at Camperdown and later Westmead Children's Hospital, he saw the very best and worst, highs and lows of life. All this was the perfect recipe for a 'good versus evil' novel. It was during his stage career he got the idea of harnessing both his creative side and his imagination with the many characters and challenges he had experienced along the way: a fantasy to make the world a safer and nicer place to live. Now, you too can go on this journey."
