Having always had a love for the outdoors, I have spent most of my life working, playing, hunting, fishing, hiking and just spending time outside. In an errant shot or misplaced arrow, He taught me humility. In an amazing sunrise, He sent me back to my childhood and gave meaning to the good and bad things that I have lived and seen. God didn't give me all of this revelation to keep to myself. He called me to share it with the world. Deer Stand Revelations is my answer to that call. My name is Marty Ray Perkins. I was born on July 21, 1961 in Roxboro N.C. I grew up on a small, family owned, tobacco farm. I have always enjoyed hunting, fishing and outdoor adventures. I love to look for Native American artifacts. I am a songwriter and enjoy singing and playing the guitar. Spending time with my family, especially my grandchildren, in the outdoors is my favorite pastime. I teach Sunday School and I am an ordained deacon at my church. Writing Deer Stand Revelations is an answer to God's calling.
