DEFEATING JAPAN IN 1945 Being at war with Japan after Pearl Harbor was a most difficult mission primarily because the Pacific Ocean is nearly three times larger than the Atlantic and having very limited resources to conduct advantageous operations. Eventually opportunities appeared to provide American planners on how and where strategic operations could begin decrementing the Japanese campaigns. During the same time, miracle weapons were being developed and some prepared for eventual use. As the island-hopping Pacific War progressed to favor the American forces, it became very clear to all combatants that invasion on the Japanese Home Islands was only logical. ¿This book presents the American strategies and plans to defeat the Japanese Military and Government to having Unconditional Surrender in 1945 and the results from that final mission.
