Addresses the issues raised by the International Criminal Court (ICC) from an International Relations perspective. This book outlines a theoretical framework to interpret these issues. Offering a definition of 'world society', it aims to help to resolve a longstanding problem in international theory.

It will appeal not only to those concerned by contemporary American foreign policy, but also to those with an interest in more general questions of international politics, international society, transatlantic relations and the war on terror.
