The present research work is an attempt to study the problem of environmental degradation on local level. The present study, thus by following an anthropological approach explored the impacts of environmental degradation on the socio-cultural settings by comparing two industrial areas of the district of Allahabad, UP. The study gives suggestive measures in the concluding part and provides a new research area to be explored anthropologically.
