This research tries to briefly describe the morphology and usage of deictic elements in one of the endangered Ethiopian Semitic languages, zay. Morphologically, in order to make the explanations clear, the author tries to divide deictic elements (expressions) in two categories-simple and complex deictic expressions. Simple deictic expressions are demonstratives, personal pronouns, time adverbs and motion verbs. Complex deictic expressions denote concepts of spatial deixis, manner deixis, time deixis, person deixis and relational expressions.
