Grieving the loss of a pet isn't any different from that of a human, or is it? Millions of people worldwide have owned a pet, currently own a pet, or will own a pet, and the species or kind of animal makes no difference. Pets bring us comfort, along with health benefits. But what happens when a pet is abandoned, abused, dumped, starved, or tied to a tree because the owner didn't want them or couldn't take care of them. It's infuriating and makes us wonder "why" or "how could they do this" to a pet. For these twenty beautiful creatures in this book of love and loss, they found their forever homes where they would be safe, loved, fed, cuddled, and held onto for as long as possible. These pet owners were open and willing to share their pets' lives from the first day to the last day when that beloved pet would cross the Rainbow Bridge. A few of these pets are a couple dogs named Mick and Laddie, a hamster named Ripple, a Nigerian goat named Jefé, and this author's cat Delilah for whom the book is named, plus many more pets with their photos and lessons learned. This author is truly sorry for your loss for those of you who have had the privilege of having a pet in your life that you loved unconditionally and then watched them pass away. Just as it is with "parenthood," so it is with "pethood." Even though they are no longer with us, they are never forgotten. You are not alone in this journey called the "circle of life." This book shares many stories that provide humor, silly things our pets do, some ways to process grief and help you heal from that loss, one baby step at a time. If you are feeling lost and alone due to the passing of your pet, Pick Up Your Copy and just know that you are not alone. If you are open and willing to share your pet's story, you'll find the author's email address on the back cover of her book.
