Fiona Anciano is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Political Studies at the University of the Western Cape, South Africa. Her research areas include civil society, democracy, and urban politics. Laurence Piper is Professor of Political Studies at the University of the Western Cape, South Africa and visiting Professor at the University West, Sweden. His research area is urban politics in the Global South.
