Die Autorin ist Zahnärztin mit einem Post-Doktorat in Mund-, Kiefer- und Gesichtschirurgie und Traumatologie von USP. Zusätzlich zu ihrem Master und ihrem Doktortitel verfügt sie über zwei Spezialisierungen. Derzeit ist sie Professorin für Mund-, Kiefer- und Gesichtschirurgie und Traumatologie am Institut für Wissenschaft und Technologie (UNESP/SJC).
