This book covers the ancestry and descendants of Daniel Wolf, the earliest record being his baptism 18 February 1732 in Germany. It follows him to Pennsylvania, then to Maryland where he died in 1807. Descendants are traced as they emigrated to Ohio, then westward; now they are distributed from Maryland to the west coast states. It is written as a Descending Genealogy, the system used being known as the NGS Quarterly System. It identifies over 3,000 descendants in nine generations, with research in depth into the early generations. Source information is well documented for the first four generations. Both male and female lines are included, Daniel's three daughters having married Kimmerling, Paulus, and Hahn lines. The index includes all descendants and spouses (as known), females being listed by both married and maiden names (when known). A limited number of photographs and drawings are provided. Included are will data, estate inventories and sales, and land transactions as well as biographical information. Information provided for each individual (when known) includes: date and place of birth, marriage, death and burial, and parents of spouses. A unique feature is the use of Ships Passenger Lists signatures and court document signatures as proof of identity. A full-name index adds to the value of this work. The author is the great-great-great grandson of Daniel Wolf.
