This book provides the concept design of the front end of the car based on packaging studies (Aggregates are positioned in a realistic mock up) is developed from which a detailed 3D model is created in CATIA and FEA model is generated using HYPERMESH. FEA model is subjected to impact stress analysis to study the nature of deformation, rate of energy absorption keeping passenger safety for a particular design. The FEA results are compared with appropriate safety norms suggested by federal motor vehicle safety standards. In this book, the most important parameters like the materials, dimensions, shape, styling and frontal impact are studied and analyzed for an automotive frontal structure (Body, Bumper, and Bonnet) to improve the crashworthiness design.
