This book aims at integration of renewable energy sources using a multi-input converter (MIC) in order to meet the future demands of smart grid. For efficiently regulating the voltage at DC bus, dedicated DC-DC converters can be replaced by a MIC which will be the key area of research in this book. Efficacy of multi-port converters will be demonstrated using the combined features of multi-input and multi-output converters thus giving rise to a universal converter. The multi-input part of the proposed universal converter will be designed and controlled using fuzzy logic controller. Multiplexing when added to the designed system ensures the maximum power point tracking based on time-domain current sharing strategy from each source. The buffering times of each source will be adjusted using different duty cycles given by the intelligent controller according to the given power demand.
