Namutumba town council is one of the fast growing rural growth centres in Eastern Uganda. This study was conducted to assess the water supply system for Namutumba Town Council. It assessed the quality and adequacy for the current and estimated population of the Town Council given that water is a social good and also that water supply is one of the focus areas for the government of the Republic of Uganda. The project was limited to the boundaries of Namutumba town council, planned built up areas with major emphasis on institutions, schools, the health centre, clinics and maternity homes. It involved a desk study, a topographic survey, design of transmission and distribution lines, water quality tests and sizing of the reservoir. It also involved cost comparison of the possible options for supplementing the available water supply scheme. Access to potable water is still a challenge in Namutumba Town Council. The most appropriate source is underground water. In order to increase accessibility to potable water, it would be economical to supply each ward separately.
