Jimma Zone is found in Ethiopia of Oromia Region with potential of fruit and Vegetable crops. Since coffee is highly produced in the area, the coffee and other agricultural waste is simply discharged to the river and open burning is usual. The aim of the research was to design heat energy generating components through fixed bed updraft wood gasifier with the help of modeling and simulation techniques. As the starting point the use of drying technology for this crops for increasing agricultural productivity and decreasing postharvest loss is the focus of the research.
