A friendly, nonacademic guide to instructional design and training implementation. This book is a practical, how-to guide to designing training for adults. It answers the question: "What do I do to get from a training need to a training event?" The heart of this book is the Sequential-Iterative Model (SIM) for training design. The SIM is a process with a "feedback loop" that enables trainers to continually refine their training based on experience. Training designers will use this revolutionary model to structure training so it is fluid and adaptable. Most guides to instructional design are stuffy, academic, and difficult to apply to the real world. Not so with Designing Powerful Training. This book is easy to approach and full of illustrations. Effective training must be open to change. Neophytes and pro trainers, as well as instructional designers, will find this quick-reading handbook essential to dynamic training design.
