As a journalist, Ethan Rarick covered politics, crime, business and sports throughout the West. His writing has appeared in many publications, including the Los Angles Times and the San Francisco Chronicle. He is currently the director of the Center on Politics at the University of California, Berkeley, and is the author of California Rising: The Life and Times of Pat Brown. He lives in Berkeley, California.
