The present study was designed to evaluate the role of regulatory T cells (T reg) in Type1 diabetes (T1D) patients and compared with healthy control subjects by the detection of Treg cells which was determined by the percentage of CD4+CD25+FOXP3+ using flowcytometery analysis. T1D was diagnosed by Fasting Blood Glucose (FBG) and glycated hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c). Immunological markers were also evaluated through Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) technique of Glutamic Acid Decarboxylase (GAD) autoantibody and Cytotoxic T Lymphocyte antigen-4 (CTLA-4) antigen, as well as inflammatory…mehr

Immunological markers were also evaluated through Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) technique of Glutamic Acid Decarboxylase (GAD) autoantibody and Cytotoxic T Lymphocyte antigen-4 (CTLA-4) antigen, as well as inflammatory markers were determined like interleukin-6(IL-6) and high sensitive C Reactive Protein(hs-CRP). Blood Samples of 66 Iraqi T1D patients who were referred to ALKindy Specialized Center For Diabetes and Endocrinology and the Central Child Hospital, and 25 blood samples from healthy control were enrolled in this study during the period between June to the end of December 2012. The collected blood samples were divided into three groups, which were newly diagnosed patients, chronic patients.
