Decisions on the crops to plant are complex and are highly contextual. It is contended that viability of small farms can be improved through crop diversification. Against this background, the following research questions was addressed in this book: What factors influence farmer's decision to diversify into selected crops? What is the intensity of diversification into selected crops? What are the predominantly crop combination enterprises? What are the benefits of crop enterprise diversification? What constraint do farmers face in diversifying into selected crop? The book analyzed the determinants of crop enterprise diversification among small holder crop farmers in Delta State. Primary data for the study were obtained by the use of structured questionnaire. A three stage multi sampling procedure was used to draw samples for the study, using lottery method. This book will enable government to implement policies that will be beneficial to farmers, farmers also will be abreast with the various crop combination enterprises. Finally, students and academicians will be able to apply the various analytic tool like the Heckman two stage model used, in subsequent research.
