The survival of commercial banks highly depends on deposit mobilization performance since it is a major activity of all commercial banks. As the result, the issue of bank deposits and factors affecting it is crucial to the financial sector of developing countries like Ethiopia. Therefore, this study aimed at identifying the critical factors affecting bank deposit mobilization performance. Accordingly, the researcher adopts a mixed research approach. The rationale of using such a mixed approach is to gather data that could not be obtained by adopting a single method. Regarding the qualitative data; a semi-structured interview is used to gather information from the employees and managers of the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia working on the Bahirdar City Branch. Regarding the quantitative data; five points Likert scale questionnaire was used to gather data from the employees of the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia Bahirdar City Branch. Accordingly ended questionnaires were distributed to employees of CBE close to 267 branches at Bahirdar city selected through a simple random sampling technique. Analysis of the data was conducted by using descriptive and inferential statistical tools.
