The success of any business is determined by how well the business can satisfy the needs of a customer profitably. This happens when a business is able to produce higher quality goods and services than its competitors. Therefore, effective quality control systems come in handy for any organizations that hope to remain competitive. Effective quality management systems allow aviation firms to keep up with and meet current needs for quality and maintain a safe airspace and operation of airworthy aircraft, equipment, and facilities. Within the Aviation industry, the establishment of Quality management systems seems quite challenging. These challenges include but not limited to, the inadequate availability of competent and qualified technical personnel, ineffective and inadequate civil aviation regulatory oversight, employees empowerment and involvement in Quality Management Systems implementation and the high cost of the initial stages of establishing an efficient and effective quality management system and the maintenance of the same. The study has laid out the background of the study, endeavoring to answer some of the questions therein.
