The researcher used a simple random sampling technique. The data collected from the case study was sorted, coded, interpreted, edited and recorded for analysis where excel was used. This study concluded that low levels of education, low levels of infrastructural development, low levels of agricultural productivity and poor health are responsible for the high levels of poverty in Akokoro Sub-county. The stakeholders should therefore implement policies and programs that are geared towards improving education, infrastructure, agriculture and health.
