This work was born out of our interest in the experiences of young people within vocational integration measures. We conducted interviews with two young people, focusing particularly on the construction and evolution of their professional desires and the place of these in their orientation. We applied the life story method, which proved to be perfectly appropriate to achieve our objective: to give the young people a voice, to gather their point of view and their interpretation of their pathway, and to better understand which elements may have influenced their pathway according to them. Our hypotheses therefore emerge entirely from the words of the two young people interviewed, and not from theoretical supports. It was only later that we compared our hypotheses with the existing literature, in contrast to an empirical research approach. The results of our analysis led us to a brief reflection on possible levers of action that could be mobilized by the actors of professional integration for a more relevant care of the young beneficiaries.
