To most essential they belong: defective educational system defective trainings system, defective job organization, and defective legal system. The legal system is built under pressure the public opinion, which is shaped by mass media. Unfortunately not always they speak the truth, generating a very primitive and false image of the reality in which infirmities of the humanity is treated as the basic, and often as the only reason of disaster or accident. Authors of this work analyse several of disasters described by media and show that the reality is much more complicated. The man is only one of elements of safety systems. Authors present also a set of tools for detection and valuation of true reasons and premises of transport accidents, in this a new method of reduction of hidden premises and determinants.

Dr. hab. ing. Jerzy Pisarek is a professor of Jan Dlugosz University in Cz¿stochowa. Currently he works on Faculty of Mathematics & Natural Sciences and heads The Division of Technical Safety.
