After each election in Brazil, a lot of data is generated, due to the number of candidates for the positions available. While all this data is being totaled and the polls are being counted, the population waits for the moment when they can find out if their candidate has been elected, or will perhaps run in the next election. At the end of the electoral process, this data is stored by the government, along with the information provided by the contestants before the election. All this data is available to the voter, and is generally used for simple searches for information such as vote totals and personal information. When this data is processed and cross-referenced with the aid of data mining, previously unknown information is obtained, which is often decisive for the candidate's election.
