A genome scans for quantitative trait loci (QTL) for egg quality and production traits was carried out in Fayoumi, Dandrawi and their offspring (F2) hens. Ten males from Dandrawi and ten females from Fayoumi were crossed (Ten families) to produce the F1 generation, while the subsequent F2 generation consisted of 57 females. Egg quality and production traits were recorded during the first 90 dyes of production period. chickens in the two generations were genotyped with 15 polymorphic microsatellite markers.
