This paper deals with the further education and training of early childhood educators in acquiring media literacy, in particular with the university course 'Language promotion with digital media'. This further education and training programme enables early childhood educators to pursue the required educational mission of integrating digital media into their daily lives. The study examines the extent to which further education and training, in particular the university course 'Language Development with Digital Media', influences the media literacy of early childhood educators. The present work is based on an extensive literature review on the keywords digital media, media literacy, further education and training, university course and media packages, in order to lay the foundation for the empirical work. For the study, the method of guided interviews was selected. Eight experts who had attended the university course 'Language Support with Digital Media' were interviewed and the interviews were then evaluated using Mayring's qualitative content analysis.
