In the aftermath of African independence, after the trauma of French colonization and, before that, the trauma of slavery, Black Africa is once again faced with challenges that are as many problems to be solved. Among the African intellectuals mobilized to reflect and advocate solutions to solve them, is Cheikh Hamidou Kane who chose, for that, the path of literature. His novel, L'aventure ambiguë, raises essential questions about the identity of the black man, his education, his projections and the fate of sub-Saharan Africa. The concerns of the writer will find a favorable echo in the pragmatism of the statesman Felix HOUPHOUËT-BOIGNY through his vision of peace. According to him, peace is the manifestation of a life made of harmony which is expressed in the human existence by the reciprocal respect, the love and the obsessive commitment for the non-violence. With this in mind, his political, economic and social actions have been conditioned in essence by peace. From then on, his entire existential struggle was conducted on the basis of the positive conception of this founding, unifying and theological paradigm.
