In this concern, the use of Rapid Prototyping (RP) is not yet fully practiced in foundries. This project work provides an initial study on the fabrication of a master pattern (step bar) of casting using rapid prototyping technique as well as presenting its scope and benefits compared to the current practices.

Mahendra S B, received the B.E degree in Mechanical engineering from AMC engineering collage Bangalore and received the M.tech in product design and manufacturing from VTU, Belagavi. He had 4 tears of teaching experience, presently working as assistant professor in department of mechanical engineering in SIT, Mangaluru.
