Electronic stethoscope is a device used to auscultate human body sounds. In this book a detailed procedure for utilizing electronic stethoscope for carrying basic medical related task is presented. This is actually a undergraduate project carried out at Sreenidhi Institute of Science and Technology Hyderabad India under the guidance of authors of this book. The design of this project centers around an acquisition circuit, data processing in Arduino, and the output on a LCD. The first part of the stethoscope is the acquisition unit, which consists of an actual stethoscope mated with a microphone, and an amplifier circuit. The microphone captures the audible signal from the body that is acoustically amplified by the stethoscope. The analog data will be independently sampled by the Arduino and capture the appropriate characteristics of the human body acoustics.
